DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia will address a mass rally in Gazipur on December 27 as a part of consecutive district tour with a view to attaining public support in favor of polls under caretaker government.

The rally, to be organized by 20-party alliance Gazipur district unit, will be held on Bhawal Badre Alam Government College field.

BNP chairperson’s press wing officer Shairul Kabir Khan told banglanews that the college Principal Haider Ahmed Naser has already given permission to use the college filed.

Shairul Kabir further said Khaleda was scheduled to attend the rally on December 23 but Gazipur deputy commissioner (DC) did not give the permission due to the simultaneous visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

However, the upcoming visit will be Khaleda’s 11th district tour after the January 5 national election boycotted by the BNP-led opposition alliance.

Earlier, Khaleda went to Rajbari, Munshiganj, Joypurhat, Brahmanbaria, Jamalpur, Nilphamari, Kishoreganj, Comilla, Narayanganj and Natore and addressed public rallies.
