Khaleda’s graft cases judge changed

DHAKA: The judge for trying Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust graft cases against BNP chairperson and others, has been changed Thursday.

The law and justice division’s joint secretary (opinion) Abu Ahmed has been replaced the incumbent judge of the Special Judge’s Court-3 Bashudev Roy.

Law ministry’s information officer Abdullah Al Sayed confirmed the matter to banglanews.

On March 19, Judge Bashudev framed charges against BNP chief Khaleda and eight others in Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust corruption cases.

Later, Khaleda challenged the indictment and the legality of the appointment of Judge Roy.

But, the Supreme Court rejected Khaleda Zia’s appeals.
