Do not threat: Nasim to Khaleda

DHAKA: Health and family welfare minister Mohammad Nasim asked Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia not to issue threat of movements to the incumbent government.

He made the statement Friday noon while addressing the national conference of Ganatantri Party as chief guest at Mahanagar Natya Mancha in city.

The ruling Awami League (AL) presidium member said that the BNP chief will not be allowed to organize killing in the country anymore. “BNP, being accompanied with Jamaat, will also not get further chance to create anarchy in the country.”

Mohammad Nasim, at that time, also warned Khaleda Zia not to speak like an autocrat. “Do not threat us. We are the pro-Liberation War party.”

The AL lawmaker, however, said that BNP, the party which did not attend the past general election, should wait for 2019.

“The election will not be arranged before a single day of the scheduled time,” he added. “And, in that election, Awami League-backed 14-party-alliance will complete hat-trick under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.”

Drawing the attention of alliance leaders and activists, the health minister urged them to get ready and said if they take position everywhere, no BNP-Jamaat men will be found there.

Civil aviation and tourism minister Rashed Khan Menon and information minister Hasanul Haq Inu were also present at the program, chaired by the Ganatantri Party presidium member barrister Arash Ali.
