DHAKA: Ruling Awami League advisory council member Suranjit Sengupta warned Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Khaleda Zia for her offensive speeches on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
He also said that Awami League will reply the ‘audacity’ of Khaleda on street.
He came up with the assertion in a discussion on current political situation at the auditorium of Institute of Diploma Engineers in city’s Kakrail area on Friday.
He criticized the derogatory remarks of BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman on father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Suranjit also termed Tarique ‘mentally sick’ and his speech ‘outcome of artificial politics’. These sorts of thinking and political practice have alienated them from people, he added.
Tarique should seek asylum in hospitals, he said.
According to the AL leader, the politics of Tarique, Khaleda and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman are the politics of distortion of history.
Bangabandhu is a huge political figure in history where Tarique has got hardly any value in politics, Suranjit said.
This political misapply of BNP is harmful for them. They would not be able to change history or stage movements by applying this strategy, he added.
Suranjit said Khaleda and her son Tarique are ignorant and establishing falsehood.
Other AL prominent leaders were also present in the program.
