DHAKA: Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) will stage demonstration on Sunday across the country protesting the arrest warrant against Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman.
JCD office secretary M Abdus Sattar Patwari, in this regard, issued a press release on Friday.
The release said JCD leaders and activists will demonstrate in all districts, metropolitans and universities across the country protesting Tarique’s arrest warrant.
JCD central committee president Rajib Ahsan and general secretary Akramul Hasan urged the JCD men to take part in the demonstration.
On Thursday, the court of metropolitan magistrate Mohammad Yunus Khan issued an arrest warrant against Tarique Rahman in a defamation case for terming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman a ‘top Razakar’.
Earlier on December 15, Tarique Rahman, the elder son of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, called Sheikh Mujib ‘Razakar’' while speaking at a discussion at The Atrium in East London marking Bangladesh’s 44th Victory Day.
