DHAKA: Police on Thursday unlocked the main gate of Gulshan political office where BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been confined for last couple of days.

The gate was unlocked at 11:45am while the north gate is still locked.

However Officer-in-Charge of Gulshan Thana Rafiqul Islam said, “I don’t know who locked the gate and who unlocked.”

Allude to, law enforcers locked the gate on January 4 afternoon as Khaleda Zia was scheduled to attend party rally January 5.

The following day, Khaleda tried to come out of the office but police kept the gate locked and sprayed pepper when party activists tried to break the lock.

Later Khaleda Zia called for countrywide blockade.
