DHAKA: Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) President Shawkat Mahmood, also adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, on Thursday said the party chief put emphasis on continuing blockade until ensuring the victory.

He was talking to journalists after meeting ‘confined’ Khaleda Zia at her Gulshan political office at night.

Former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University Anwarullah Chowdhury, Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) President Abdul Hye Sikder and general secretary Zahangir Alam Pradhan also went to meet Khaleda.

“Khaleda Zia is determined about continuing this nonstop blockade and snatching victory through demonstrations,” he added.

She also has recovered physically, he added.

However, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia remained confined to her Gulshan political office for the 6th day on Thursday as huge law enforcers were seen deployed in front of the office main gate. Police, however, unlocked the main entrance of the office.
