DHAKA: The news item that said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of India’s president Amit Shah called BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to know about her health condition is totally a false news item.
Rather, the first call was from Khaleda Zia’s office in city to Amit Shah’s office, not even to Shah himself.
Publicity Secretary of ruling Awami League Dr Hasan Mahmud told banglanews that they have specific pieces of information regarding the matter.
He also said what Khaleda Zia was spreading about the main political party of neighbouring country was unexpected.
Meanwhile, a competent source said Indian High Commission to Bangladesh also expressed its concern in this regard.
Quoting high-ups of Indian High Commission, source also said, “BJP president did no call Khaleda Zia and did not talk.”
On Thursday (January 8), Maruf Kamal Khan, press secretary to BNP chief said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah made a phone call to know about the health condition of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The BJP leader talked to Khaleda on Wednesday night and expressed hope of her immediate cure, he added.
** The phone call was true, claims BNP
