DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Saturday called his party leaders and activists to continue the anti-government movement by staying cautious.
The BNP leader made the urge to his party people through reporters of several private satellite television channels from an unknown location in the city in the morning.
Rizvi’s whereabouts remains unknown since he had gone hiding from the city’s Apollo Hospitals on January 7.
He said they have to continue the movement by staying in careful positions. The incumbent government will try to make the agitating BNP men responsible for sabotages, he added.
He went on saying that government will also try to stop BNP’s ongoing movement by filing case, arrests and attacks on its leaders and activists.
Mentioning BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s phone conversation with India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, Rizvi said the Bangladesh government is engaged in propaganda on the matter.
