GAIBANDHA: A man was run over by a truck when he jumped out of a passenger bus to escape petrol bomb attack in Kalitola area under Gobindaganj upazila on Rangpur-Dhaka highway Sunday late night.

Three other passengers of the bus sustained burn injuries in the attack presumably by blockaders at 11:45pm.

The deceased was identified as Parvez, 35, a construction worker, hailed from Sreerumpur of Noakhali.

Gobindaganj thana officer-in-charge Jahidul Islam told banglanews that a Dhaka-bound bus of Ena Paribahan coming from Rangpur reached Kalitola area of the district, miscreants hurled petrol bomb at the vehicle, leaving three passengers badly burnt.

The injured, whose identity could not be known immediately, were admitted to Gobindaganj Upazila Health Complex.

Another passenger Parvez jumped out of the bus to escape the fire then a speedy truck ran over him.  

Gobindaganj highway thana officer-in-charge Masud Parvez confirmed the matter to banglanews.
