JESSORE: Police detained 55 including 13 leaders and activists of BNP in a nightlong drive conducted across the district.

Confirming the matter, Jessore police spokesperson and also Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Reshma Sharmin told banglanews that 55 were held in the drives started from Monday afternoon.

Among the detainees, 13 are the leaders and activists of BNP district unit, she added, the rest are accused of several cases.

According to the ASP, the detainees will be sent to Jessore court by Tuesday afternoon.
