RAJSHAHI: A blockade supporter and also local Jubo Dal leader was killed and another one injured in a road accident on Godagari-Kakonhat road in Godagari upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Eslam Hossain, 36, Risikul union Ward president of Jubo Dal, son of Ibrahim Hossain of the area.

Witnesses said a rashly driven truck knocked the blockaders down while they were imposing blockade on the road around 4:00pm, leaving Eslam dead on the spot and another one injured critically.

The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

Godagari Thana Officer-in-Charge SM Abu Farhad confirmed the matter to banglanews.
