DHAKA: Disaster management and relief minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Wednesday categorically said there is no other way left but arresting BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

He told the audience at an anti-hartal and blockade rally, organized by 22 front organizations of ruling Awami League (AL), at Bangabandhu Avenue in the city on Wednesday morning.

The minister said that it is now a demand of people to arrest Khaleda as the current situation of the country has been deteriorated.

The BNP chief has gone crazy for assuming power, he commented.

According to Maya, activists of Jamaat are hurling bombs to people following the instructions of Khaleda.

He demanded the government to arrest the BNP chief immediately for provocation of killing people in the name of hartal and blockade.

Asking his party men to patrol neighborhoods, the minister announced awards for catching the bomb hurlers.

Food minister Qamrul Islam, acting president of AL Dhaka Metropolitan unit MA Aziz, senior vice-president Fayez Uddin Mia, organizing secretary Shahe Alam Murad, among others, were present at the rally, chaired by AL Samarthak Jote president Abdul Haque Sabuj.
