DHAKA: Railway Minister Mujibul Haque on Wednesday claimed that BNP is a new militant organization of the country.
The railway minister made the remark in a signing ceremony of procuring 120 broad-gauge passenger coaches on Indian credit in city’s railway ministry office.
Mujibul said, “We know the Jammat-e-Islami as a militant organization. Now, I want to introduce all with a new militant party that is BNP.”
He said, “The activists of the party have proved that they become a militant group, which BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is chief.”
Citing that Khaleda Zia have connection with the sabotages in railway sector, the minister said removal of rail tracks, fishplates, set fire to compartments have been conducted with the provocation of the BNP chief.
Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran, Railways Secretary Mansur Ali Shikder, Railway Director General Amzad Hossain were among others present on the occasion.
