CHITTAGONG: At least four traffic police personnel were injured as blockade supporters hurled crude bombs aiming them at Chandgaon area of the port city on Wednesday evening.
Of the injured, three were identified as Ripon Barua, 36, Farid Uddin, 35 and Ramij Uddin, 35.
Duty officer of Chandgaon Thana Sub-Inspector M Hafiz confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Due to blockade, they were discharging responsibilities by coordinating with the thana, he added.
The injured police member Ripon Barua told banglanews that two cocktails blasted while they were performing duties in front of Rose Garden at Chandgaon area.
“We could not identify the miscreants,” he said.
Additional commissioner (admin, finance and traffic) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police AKM Shahidur Rahman said police are looking into the incident.
