DHAKA: The 36-hour hartal, separately enforced by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its student’s wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), has entered 2nd day in Dhaka and Khulna divisions on Thursday.
Besides, nationwide road-rail-waterway blockade is also underway. Thursday is the 17th day of blockade.
On Monday, BNP Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi called a 36-hour shutdown, beginning from Wednesday 6:00am.
JCD also called a 36-hour hartal in Dhaka district and city from Wednesday protesting the ‘killing’ of its Khilgaon Thana unit general secretary of the city.
