CHANDPUR: Miscreants set fire to the district Awami League (AL) unit’s office on Comilla Road of the town on Thursday morning.

Chandpur Sadar Model Thana Sub-Inspector Nandan Sarkar told banglanews that they were staying on Shapath Chattar in the town after finishing nighttime patrol duty.

Being informed, they rushed to the AL office and doused the fire with the help of the locals.

The arson attack took place around 6:00am that gutted several banners, chairs and a major part of office door.

On information, AL district unit general secretary Abu Naim rushed to the spot and demanded the arrest of the culprits within 24 hours.

Chandpur superintendent of police M Amir Zafar told banglanews that police are trying to nab the arsonists.
