BOGRA: Law enforcers detained district unit Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Alamgir Hussain, also chairman of Shibganj upazila parishad, on Thursday on charge of creating violence.
Police sources said that a special team of Sadar Thana Police led by Inspector (Investigation) conducted a raid at the residence of the Jamaat leader in the district town and held him around 7:00pm.
The Jamaat leader is accused in several cases on charge of vandalism, arson and creating violence in the district.
Bogra Sadar Assistant Police Superintendent Gaziur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
