DHAKA: Raushan Ershad, leader of the opposition in the national parliament, on Friday urged Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to refrain from acts of violence in the name of strike and blockade.
She made the request after visiting the burn victims at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the capital.
Raushan said there that killing people by torching vehicles is not the solution. It is unexpected.
“Political parties have to realize that people are not their enemies,” she added.
The opposition leader, while talking with journalists, said that the government will take necessary steps to contain the violence.
“The list of the anarchists is now on government hand,” she warned. “Actions will be taken on time.”
Nevertheless, Raushan Ershad visited the burn unit of DMCH earlier. She talked there with the victims and inquired about their treatments.
