BOGRA: BNP-led 20-party alliance called 48-hour hartal from Sunday protesting the threat to arrest BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and arrest of countrywide BNP leaders and activists.

District BNP office secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Raju confirmed the matter to banglanews, through a press release regarding the matter, on Friday.

The statement said the alliance will observe the hartal from 6:00am of Sunday to 6:00am of Tuesday protesting the threat to arrest BNP chief, arrest warrant issued against BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman, and arrest of district Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Alamgir Hussain, and district Swechhasebok Dal president Shah M Mehedi Hasan.
