RAJSHAHI: Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Rajshahi district unit Chaatra Dal president Shafiqul Alam Samapta on Sunday afternoon.

Police sources said that the Chhatra Dal leader was held from the gate of Rajshahi central jail around 2:00pm when he went to meet BNP central committee special secretary and also Rajshahi district unit president Nadim Mostafa.

Shafiqul was taken to DB office for interrogation.

Several cases were framed against him for vandalism and creating violence in the metropolitan.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesperson and also Assistant Police Commissioner of DB police Ifte Khayer Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
