PABNA: Hartal and blockade supporters torched a truck and vandalized another truck and auto-rickshaw on Dhaka-Pabna highway on Monday, the second and final day of 36-hour hartal enforced by BNP led 20-party alliance.

On the other hand, law enforcers, in a nightlong special drive, rounded up 42 people for creating violence in the district.

Witnesses said that the blockaders set fire to a truck and vandalized an auto-rickshaw and another truck in Jafrabad area at 6:30am.

On information, police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame.

No one was reportedly injured in this incident, said Ahsanul Haque, Officer-in-Charge of Pabna Sadar Thana.

Pabna Additional Police Superintendent Siddiqur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
