COMILLA: District BNP called 36-hour hartal from Wednesday in the district protesting the case against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on charges of instigating sabotage in Chauddagram upazila.

District BNP general secretary Haji Amin-ur-Rashid Yasin confirmed the matter to banglanews on Tuesday.

He said the BNP leaders announced the hartal around 5:30pm and the 20-party alliance lent support to BNP.

However, the BNP chief was sued in a sabotage case following an arson attack on a covered van in Haidarpool area of the upazila.
