GAZIPUR: Law enforcers detained 14 people, indulging district unit Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami of Gazipur Abul Hashem Khan and city Finance Secretary Mohammad Nasrullah with petrol bombs, on Tuesday.

Police sources said some 14 leaders and activists of BNP led 20-party alliance, including the two senior Jamaat leaders, were held from different places of the district.

Ten petrol bombs were recovered from the residences of Abul Hashem Khan and Mohammad Nasrullah.

On the other hand, on Tuesday evening, Gazipur metropolitan and district Jamaat called a daylong hartal in the district for Wednesday.

Joydebpur Thana Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Hasan confirmed the matter to banglanews.
