KUSHTIA: Law enforcers detained district unit BNP secretary Sohrab Uddin from his Majampur area residence in the district Sadar town on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge of Kushtia Model Thana Abdul Khaleque told banglanews that he was held in an arson attack case filed with Islamic University (IU) Thana.

A case was filed with Islamic University Thana against 26 people on Tuesday night for setting fire to a rice-laden truck on Kushtia-Jhenidah highway in Shantidanga area.

Some 15 persons’ names were mentioned in the chargesheet excluding the name of Sohrab Uddin.

Officer-in-Charge of IU Thana Mohibul Haque said Sohrab Uddin’s name might be included on charge of instigating violence.
