DHAKA: Leaders and activists of Jatiya Party (JP) started the token mass hunger strike on Thursday morning in protest against the ongoing ‘violent politics’.

The token mass strike began at 11:35am on party’s Kakrail office premises in the city with its Dhaka City (south) convener Syed Abu Hossian Babla in the chair.

Jatiya Party chairman Hussein Mohammad Ershad, also special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, joined the protest program.

The demonstration will continue till 4:00pm with the participation of the party people.

Jatiya Party secretary general Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, presidium members, among others joined the hunger strike.
