Deposition in Khaleda cases now Feb 25 BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia

DHAKA: A special court Thursday deferred the deposition submission in the Zia Charitable and Orphanage Trust Graft cases against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and others till February 25.

Newly appointed Judge of Special Judge Court-3 Abu Ahmed Jamadar adjourned the deposition recording after hearing the time petition filed by Khaleda in absentia.

When Khaleda’s lawyer drew court’s attention about Koko’s death, the judge expressed condolence to bereaved family member and granted more than three weeks time.

Advocate Sanaullah Mia, one of the lawyers of Khaleda, told banglanews that the BNP chief is now mentally upset at the death of her youngest son. Besides, she felt insecure as her motorcade came under attack during her last court appearance. So, she did not appear before the court and sought time.

Regarding the matter, Sanaullah said that on previous date, Khaleda Zia showed no confidence at the judge of the court which remains pending in the High Court. So, a petition has been filed Thursday seeking stay of the trial till the matter is dissolved.
