BNP standing committee members express sympathy to Khaleda

DHAKA: Seven standing committee members of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Thursday expressed their deep condolences and sympathy to their chairperson Khaleda Zia over the recent demise of her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko.

The BNP leaders met Khaleda at her Gulshan’s political office in the city on Thursday night and conveyed their sympathy.
 
Earlier BNP leaders Dr RA Gani, Barrister Maudud Ahmed, Dr Abdul Moin Khan, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Nazrul Islam Khan and Sarwari Rahman were seen entering to the Khaleda’s office one by one from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

Nearly half-an-hour they were also seen emerging out of the office around 8:30pm.

After coming out of the office, Nazrul Islam told the journalists that they came today (Thursday) to express their sadness and sympathy to the chairperson. Recently, she lost her younger son Arafat Rahman Koko

Despite they have no speech to condole over her loss, they came to express their sympathy as her fellows, he added.

Asked whether blockade-hartal program will be relaxed during SSC examinations, Nazrul Islam said they had no discussion on politics with the chairperson.
 
Besides, a liaison committee of the 20-party alliance will take decision on the matter and this committee will decide everything on the ongoing movement, he added.

Of the leaders, Maudud Ahmed and Rafiqul Islam Mia came with their wife to convey their sympathy to Khaleda.
