Passenger bus torched in capital

DHAKA: Blockaders set fire to a passenger bus at city’s Tanti Bazar on Friday morning, the 25th straight days of the non-stop countrywide blockade enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance.

Locals told banglanews that the Victor Paribahan bus was torched around 8:30am. However, no one was injured in the arson attack.

The bus came under arson attacks carried out by blockade supporters while it was passing the area, said Fire Service and Civil Defense telephone operator Ziaur Rahman.

Later, fire fighters, on information, rushed to the spot and doused the flame.
