DHAKA: Awami League (AL) advisory committee member Suranjit Sengupta on Friday remarked that stern administrative actions would be taken against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia if she does not withdraw blockade within February 2.
Suranjit came up with the assertion in a discussion meeting, organized by Nouka Samarthak Gosthi, at Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) of the city at noon.
He further said Khaleda Zia has to take decision about withdrawing the indefinite blockade within two days.”
“Otherwise, constitutional and administrative actions would be taken against her considering the future of some 16 lakh students,” he forewarned.
“You have rights to protest in democratic manner but not for committing violence. Besides, no demand can be met by putting pressure on the government”, he added.
Samyabadi Dal leader Harun Chowdhury and freedom fighter Abdul Hai Kanu, among others, also addressed the discussion meeting.
