DHAKA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed from a house in city’s Baridhara area early Saturday.
According to party sources, RAB picked up him around 2:30am.
BNP chairperson’ press wing officer Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Recently, Rizvi, on behalf of his party and alliance, had been issuing statements regarding the ongoing anti-government movement.
On Friday, he also announced the alliance’s 72-hour countrywide hartal, beginning from Sunday morning.
Since the detention, Rizvi’s whereabouts remain unknown.
