DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) detained 24 leaders-activists of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Chhatra Shibir from different places of the city.

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Media Wing, confirmed the matter to banglanews on Saturday. 

Teams of police, in separate drives, picked up the BNP-Jamaat men for their alleged involvement in sabotage during ongoing anti-government movement.  

The BNP-led 20-party alliance is enforcing a nationwide violent blockade since January 6.
