BNP blockade based on outsourcing: Qamrul Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam

DHAKA: Food Minister Advocate Qamrul Islam on Sunday claimed that BNP-enforced nationwide road-water-railway blockade, which lacks people’s support, is based on outsourcing.

The acts of sabotage during hartal-blockade were being carried out hiring people from outside the party, he added.

The minister was addressing a discussion titled “Militancy, Politics: Role of Freedom Fighters” at Liberation War Museum in city’s Segun Bagicha area.

However, BNP-led 20-party alliance has been observing a 72-hour hartal across the country since Sunday morning, supplemented by blockade.

BNP enforced the blockaded on January 5, protesting its chairperson Khaleda Zia’s confinement at her Gulshan office in the city.
