DHAKA: Police shot a Jubo Dal leader while he was fleeing after torching a bus in New Marker area of the city Sunday night.

The injured Abdur Razzak, 25, is identified as organizing secretary of BNP’s youth wing in Dhaka South City Corporation word no 18.

New Market Thana Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Farid Miah also injured in the incident.

New Market Thana Sub-Inspector (SI) Ansarul Haque told banglanews that Razzak along with other people torched a bus in front of Rasel Plaza of the area around 7:45pm.

On information, police rushed to the spot immediately and chased the people.

At one stage, police opened fire at them and Razzad was shot in his leg.

Later, police took him to the Dhaka Medical College and Hopital (DMCH).

However, bullet-shot Razzak confessed that he torched the bus following the order of New Market Thana Jubo Dal general secretary Abul Hossain.
