DHAKA: A Dhaka court Monday asked Gulshan Thana police to investigate the case filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and three other leaders for instigating murder of 42 people by arson attacks.
Metropolitan magistrate Atikur Rahman recorded the statement of AB Siddique, plaintiff of the case, around 11:00am and assigned Gulshan police station to probe into the case.
The three BNP leaders are BNP chairperson’s adviser Dr Emaz Uddin Ahmed, vice chairman Shamser Mubin Chowdhury and standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Miah.
Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddique filed the case with Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court around 10:00am.
AB Siddique told banglanews that the BNP chief was made accused for instigating killing of 42 people by arson attacks during continuous blockade and phases of hartal called by BNP led 20-party alliance since January 5.
Plaintiff’s lawyer Rawshan Ara Shikdar told banglanews that the case was filed under 302, 109 and 120 (B) of penal code.
