DHAKA: Religious affairs minister Matiur Rahman on Monday donated Tk 12,500 to each of thirty-four burn victims, who sustained injuries during the ongoing blockade enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance.

Sources said the minister handed over the money to the injured at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the city at noon.

However, at least 54 burn victims are currently undergoing treatment at the unit.

After donating the money, the minister prayed for the injured and for the welfare of the country as well.
