JHENIDAH: BNP district unit called a daylong hartal (shutdown) for Wednesday protesting arson attack at the party office, filing ‘fake’ cases against party-people, arresting them and police raids at their houses.
The district general secretary Abdul Malek made the announcement through a press release on Monday.

The shutdown was called protesting the arson attack at the party’s district office, filing ‘fake’ cases against party-people, arresting them and police raids at their houses, said the release.
According to the release, emergency services including power, water, medicine, ambulance and the media will remain out of purview of the hartal.
Moreover, the local BNP leader also sought assistance from people in observance of the hartal.
