Voters have zero trust on govt: Rizvi Ruhul Kabir Rizvi briefs the media

DHAKA: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi accused the government of looting, seizure, murder, extra-judicial killing, sponsoring terrorism, bungling bank money, vote rigging, holding consecutive voter-less elections etc and said those evil activities make the voters’ faith on the government reach down to null level.

He was addressing a press briefing at the BNP central party office in Nayapaltan Saturday (June 22).

Citing an instruction of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of directing the Awami League leaders and activists to work in a united manner to achieve the trust of the voters, Rizvi said: “I think she (Sheikh Hasina) has got the proper realization, even it is delayed.”

“But, despite of that, the voters have no trust on the government,” he added.

“It would be good for the country’s democracy if the prime minister can get more realization. And this is—handing over the power to a neutral government. Only then some trust of the voters could come back,” Rizvi said further.

However, BNP Secretary for Training Affairs AMB Mosharaf Hossain, Assistant Office Secretaries Belal Ahmed Taiful Islam Tipu, Assistant Publicity Secretary Asadul Karim Shahin and Executive member Prof Aminul Islam, among others, were present at the briefing.
