Jamaat-cop clash in city, 3 held

DHAKA: A clash between police and Jamaat-Shibir activists took place in new market area of the city on Monday afternoon.

Sources said according to the previous announcement, Jamaat-Shibir activists brought out a procession from Gausia market around 02:15pm. When police obstructed them the clash erupted.

Jamaat-Shibir activists blasted couple of cocktails in the area during clash.

Later, police opened fire teargas shells to disperse Jamaat-Shibir and held three Jamaat-Shibir activists from the spot.

Assistant Secretary of City Jamaat Manjurul Islam Bhuiyan and Shibir leader Mobarak Hossain led the procession.
