JESSORE: A group of criminals murdered a Jubo League leader in Chowgacha upazila of the district on Sunday (February 17).

The incident occurred at Charabari village under Fulsara union of the upazila around 11:30 am.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Barik, 45, joint general secretary of Jubo League at ward no-3 under Fulsara union.

Abul basher, a brother of the deceased, told Banglanews that the attackers joined Awami League before the 11th national election. 

Listed terrorists of the area attacked Abdul Barik and his bother Anisur Rahman when they were catching fish in their pond, he added.

The attackers and the victims are involved in a number of cases. Locals made attempts to resolve the issues, but in vain. This attack is linked to that feud, Akikul Islam, sub inspector (SI) of Chowgacha police station, told banglanews.
