DHAKA: Former minister of BNP Shahjahan Siraj passed away at a city hospital on Tuesday afternoon (July 14). He was 77.
He breathed his last at around 3:30pm while undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital in the capital.
Confirming the matter to Banglanews, BNP chairperson's media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan said Siraj had been suffering from cancer for long.
He is survived by his wife, one daughter, one son and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
Shajahan Siraj, one of the organizers of Bangladesh Liberation War, was a politician who served as vice chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He served five terms as the member of the parliament for the Tangail-4 constituency.
