Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has urged the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) to continue broadcasting its health bulletin on the COVID-19 situation at least twice a week.

The ruling party general secretary made the call on Wednesday after DGHS announced to suspend its regular broadcast from today.

The suspension of daily update on the coronavirus situation might make people lax about the transmission of the virus. It might also prompt spread of misinformation and rumors, he said. 

Quader was addressing a view-exchange meeting with Sylhet zone BRTA and BRTC officials from his official residence through videoconferencing.
