DHAKA: Law enforcers detained 44 activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir from three districts between Thursday night and early Friday.

In Khulna: Police in a drive held 16 activists of Jamaat-Shibir from various spots of nine Upazila of the district.

Special Branch of Khulna District Police (Officer-in-Charge) Abdur Rashid confirmed the matter to banglanews.

In Sunamganj: 12 Jamaat-Shibir men were held from Sunamganj Sadar Model police station, Chhatak, Dirai and Tahirpur police stations.

In Noakhali: Police, in nightlong drive, detained 16 Jamaat-Shibir men from various spots of the district.

Besides three BNP men were held in the district.

Sudharam police station Officer-in-Charge Mosharraf Hossain Tarafdar confirmed the matter to banglanews.
