Bangladesh are determined to learn from their mistakes as they take on Afghanistan in the second ODI at Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, tomorrow at 6 PM (Bangladesh Time), aiming to level the three-match series.
After sweeping the T20 series 3-0, Bangladesh lost the first ODI by five wickets. Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz said there’s no reason to panic and emphasized improving on the errors from the first match.
In the opener, Bangladesh’s top order collapsed before Miraz and Towhid Hridoy added 101 runs for the fourth wicket. Hridoy’s dismissal triggered another collapse, with the side all out for 221 in 48.5 overs. Miraz top-scored with 60.
“Already, we lost 40 runs on this wicket. We need better partnerships and to aim for 260-plus next time,” Miraz said, expressing confidence in his team’s chances to bounce back.
Bangladesh have historically held the upper hand against Afghanistan in ODIs, winning 11 of their 20 encounters, though Afghanistan took the last bilateral series 2-1 in 2024 in the UAE.
