DHAKA: Floodlights of the Shahid Candhu Stadium of Bogra have caused trouble for Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

The BCB has been counting Tk 1.5 lakh each month for these lights which remained switched off for the last three and a half years.

The stadium had hosted international on December 5, 2006 between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. The BCB will have to pay now Tk 63 lakh electricity bill without using the electricity.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of BCB Nizam Uddin Chowdhury sat with Finance and Planning Director Abdur Rahman of the National Sports Council (NSC) on Saturday to discuss the issue.

NSC said the BCB will have to consult eccentricity authority.

Nizam Uddin Chowdhury told banglanews24.com.bd on Monday that they were trying to find out an acceptable solution for the problem.

“We are also trying to resolve the issue of electricity bills of all other stadiums,” said Nizam.
