BARISAL: Vice-Chancellor of Barisal University (BU) Professor Dr SM Imamul Huq claimed that he had received a death threat as form of a text message in his cell phone.

On Wednesday (August 23), he filed a General Diary (GD) with the Port Station of Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mustafa Kamal of BMP Port station told Banglanews that one Shahidul Islam gave a threat to the VC via a text message.

However, the OC was tight-lipped regarding type of the threat.

VC Prof SM Imamul Huq said that he was given the threat demanding cancellation of the recent recruitment tests at BU and recruitment following a recommended list as well.
 
Earlier, tests were held for some posts of BU following circulars published by the varsity. 

However, results are yet to publish.
