DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated free textbook distribution program for the academic year 2018 on Saturday (December 30), ahead of January 1 ‘National Textbook Festival’.

The premier launched the program by handing over books of primary and secondary levels to students at an event at Ganabhaban, in the morning. 

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, Primary and Mass Education Minister Advocate Mustafizur Rahman and Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed were among others present there. 

The education minister said a total of 35,42,90,162 textbooks will be distributed this year.
