DHAKA: No innocent student will be harassed in connection with the four cases filed with Shahbagh Police Station over the attack carried out on the residence of Dhaka University (DU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Akhtaruzzaman, said the VC himself.

The VC was talking to the reporters, at his office Thursday noon (April 12).  

“Those who are really involved in the attack at the residence, have to face punishment. We have lodged case on behalf on the varsity, and formed probe committee. The law will take its course and police will follow their duties,” he said.

“Those who are involved must have to face penalty. None will be spared,” added Akhtaruzzaman.   

“DU family doesn’t believe that any of its students have involvement in this attack. But, it will be shameful for us if someone like this is really involved”   

I have asked the law enforcers, not to harass any innocent student on suspicion, he said further.
