DHAKA: Five more private colleges were nationalized as part government’s latest nationalization program. 

The Ministry of Education issued a notification to this effect on Monday (August 27). 

Earlier on August 12, a total of 271 private colleges were nationalized.

The newly nationalized colleges are- Baneshwar College in Puthia Upazila of Rajshahi, Kaharole Degree College in Kaharole upazila of Rajshahi, Pakerhat Degree College in Khansama in Khansama upazila of Dinajpur, Baliakandi College in Baliakandi upazila of Rajbari and Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Mahila Degree College in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat. 

With this inclusion, the total government college of the country stands at 603.
