DHAKA: A workshop cum seminar organized by Merchandising Association of Primeasia (MAP) recently held at the IQAC conference room of Primeasia University campus. 

About 300 members among 1,000 members of MAP who are now working in merchandising department in various factory and buyer offices attended the seminar.

Graduate students of 09 and 10 series organized the program on behalf of the MAP. 

Most senior member of the organization Sohidul Alam, managing director of Bayrong Ltd, delivered the opening speech. 

Primeasia University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Director of Trustee Board Md Rayhan Azad, Treasurer A K M Ashraful Haque, Registrar Abul Kashem Molla, and teachers of Textile Engineering Department attended the program.

Country Manager of G-Star Raw Bangladesh Office Shafiur Rahman and apparel Company PVH Bangladesh Office’s HR Manager Mohammad Oyasi Uddin, among others, were present.

CEO of Fakir Fashion Ltd Maher Abdullah and Senior Merchandising Manager of Adidas Bangladesh Office Rifat Haque conducted leadership training on “How Bangladeshi merchandiser can be more skillful and make themselves as per global standard”. 

They emphasized on how the merchandisers can reduce dependency on foreign employees in textile sector.
